One of the most beautiful places in England, is the Peak District, and if you enjoy a little sleeping under the canvas, peak district camping can be a truly wonderful experience. Whether you prefer to go to listed campsites, “of which there are loads”, or maybe going of the beaten track a bit, for a spot of wild camping. Listed campsites are plentiful, so i’ll just name a few of the best.
Callow top holiday park, situated close to Ashbourne is a four star rated site, and very popular for families with great views over Dove valley and the famous Tissington trail, and also with high peak trails close by, an excellent place to discover the beauty of the peak national park. It;s a great place for kids, with endless opportunities for all types of walks from a gentle stroll to long hikes in the peaks.
Another location with breath taking scenery is Park House campsite, near Monsal head. With dozens of walks right of your doorstep, it’s well worth a visit. Although, if it’s the peace and quiet that you’re after, then maybe you should try wild camping. Perhaps not as good as in Scotland or the Lake District. There is still some great sites to be seen, probably more on the dark side of the peaks. Whatever you choose, Peak District camping will be an unforgettable experience.
