Skiing is one of the most popular and in my opinion one of the best winter sports there is! Many people go off to Europe and even as far as the US and Canada to some of the best and most expensive ski resorts in the world. What most people in the UK seem to forget is that you can, and many people do ski Scotland. Skiing in Scotland has grown tremendously inside the past couple of years, probably sue to the economic crisis.

Scotland is the most northern country in the UK (obviously!), and in fact, some parts of Scotland are closer to Iceland than they are to London. When you couple this with the fact that most of the highest mountains in Britain are located in Scotland, it’s not hard to see why it’s a great place for skiing, and how likely it is that there will be snow, especially considering the past few winters that we have had. Its a great place to ski, so lets get as many pepole as we can to ski Scotland.

Probably the most famous Skiing resorts in the UK would be in the Nevis range, located on and around Ben Nevis, the largest mountain in the UK. There are also many other ranges; CairnGorm and Glenshee are examples of these. So, if you have every though about participating in some ski Scotland, but weren’t sure if the resorts were good enough, then take a look at some of the links on this page, and you’ll get plenty of infobe pleasantly surprised!

One of the most beautiful places in England, is the Peak District, and if you enjoy a little sleeping under the canvas, peak district camping can be a truly wonderful experience. Whether you prefer to go to listed campsites, “of which there are loads”, or maybe going of the beaten track a bit, for a spot of wild camping. Listed campsites are plentiful, so i’ll just name a few of the best.

Callow top holiday park, situated close to Ashbourne is a four star rated site, and very popular for families with great views over Dove valley and the famous Tissington trail, and also with high peak trails close by, an excellent place to discover the beauty of the peak national park. It;s a great place for kids, with endless opportunities for all types of walks from a gentle stroll to long hikes in the peaks.

Another location with breath taking scenery is Park House campsite, near Monsal head. With dozens of walks right of your doorstep, it’s well worth a visit. Although, if it’s the peace and quiet that you’re after, then maybe you should try wild camping. Perhaps not as good as in Scotland or the Lake District. There is still some great sites to be seen, probably more on the dark side of the peaks. Whatever you choose, Peak District camping will be an unforgettable experience.

Camping doesn’t get much better, than wild camping USA. So many wonderful locations to choose from like the Rocky Mountains extreme Alaska, Colorado, Utah or California. Probably my favourite would have to be the Rocky Mountains Colorado.

Paces to camp shouldn’t be too hard to find especially in the more remote parts. Unless you are in rocky mountain national park areas, you shouldn’t get any hassle from rangers. One practically beautiful spot we found was in and around alderfer three sisters, lots of forests meadows and magnificent scenery. But Colorado has hundreds of stunning locations in which to wild camp. A few precautionary measures must be taken if you’re camping in an area where there are bears about. While most bears should be harmless they must be treated with total respect, especially if it’s a mother with cubs at this stage they can be very protective of there young.

It’s probably a good idea to cook away from the camp and if you have food around its best to keep it in sealed containers. Always be prepared as far as clothing and equipment are concerned no matter what the weather. So wether it’s a fun weekend or a longer period wild camping USA can be a great experience.

When you think of camping especially wild camping Scotland it brings some beautiful visions to mind, lakes, forests, rolling hills and Glens, Mountains large and small.Breathtaking scenery from snow capped peaks to beautiful lakes and hills. With Lots of different locations to chose from, like the highlands around glen Lyon.

It’s a very peaceful location with unrivaled scenery a really unique placeYou also have the lochs, waterfalls and Caledonian pine forests. One breathtaking area we have been to before is inverlael forest, near Ulla pool. Some terrific walks up to the high ground but, really worth the long hike up but it’s all part of the experience of wild camping Scotland.

Most of the public hill land is ok to camp on as long as you are more than 100 metres away from a public road. Also consideration must be made to keeping the countryside clean and tidy. Always make sure your campfires are keep to a minimum.

Again make sure you are prepared for the different types of weather that Scotland has to offer no matter what the time of year.So it’s worth making sure you have the proper equipment, like walking boots, waterproof clothing and warm gear.

The Peak District has a wide range of walks in different types of terrain. These can be divided up into various categories, for example, short walks, limestone dales, moorlands and Gritstone edges. Because there is such a vast number of walks, we will look at a couple that we feel are the best, just to give you a taste of Peak District walks.

Limestone dales -The deepdale and Sheldon walk is about 10km rising to around 150m, and takes toughly three and a half hours to complete, if your walking at a steady pace with two stops. Starting from the river Wye at the bottom of the Monsal dale, and climbing up to Sheldon, a beautiful small village high up in the hills above, and then returning to the valley floor. On route, there are some fantastic views of a lot of the neglected lead mines in the area. A lovely walk which should be suitable for the majority of people.

Gritstone edge – A beautiful walk from the village of Winkle along the Gristone trail, and ending up back in Wingle. An excellent walk with a lot of variety, taking in canal side, riverside, farmland and wooded valleys. Parking can be found quite easily, close to the village pub.
