If you don’t know what to get him or her this Christmas, then you cannot go wrong with a good jacket.  You don’t want to get a cheap, unbranded coat that will last for two weeks though.  You will need one of the best hiking jackets, a top brand name that will last a life time.

There are quite a few top brands on the market today that provide a very good link between quality and price.  There are some however, that are way over priced, and you shouldn’t go near.  I will go into this in more detail in another article, to make sure that you do not get ripped of by some of these large companies.

For me, you have to go with the likes of Berghaus or The North Face, as they are top name brands that you will never be ashamed to wear.  These are brand names that even the most experienced walkers and mountaineers will use to get the best hiking jacket possible for their journey.

There are numerous other brands like Bear Grylls and Ray Mears with famous adventurers facing the company.  They also have quite good products, as they put their name and reputation on the line by fronting them.
